Now Reading

I'm pretty excited to get into this book. I got this as a Christmas present and just started diving into it last night. I know Bill Simmons is a Celtics homer. I do have to admit that his homerisms are, in some ways, what draws me to him. He's a journalist who doesn't shy away from the fact that he's a huge fan of Boston sports teams. I don't see anything wrong with that...after all, the guy writes an opinion column. I definitely would be the same way with my Bay Area teams (yes, even the Warriors).

This is a huge book. We'll see how much I get into it. The last non-fiction book this large that I tried to read was Jeff Chang's Can't Stop Won't Stop and for months afterwards, I bored everyone I knew with endless (and most often useless) hip hop facts.

Training Lull

The holidays always kick off a training lull for me. No BJJ. No weights. Definitely no cardio. I did get a workout in at Gold's today. Weights. Chest and some tri's.

5 x 10-20 Dumbbell Inclines
3 x 8-10 Flat Bench Machine
3 x 10 Peck Deck
3 x 10-12 Behind the Neck Presses
3 x 10-12 Close Grip Seated Presses
3 x 10-12 Tricep Pulldowns

I'm making excuses as to why I'm not going to roll tonight. This is the time of year where I let myself give in to the excuses though. The last two weeks of December are normally such a busy time for everyone that even though you may be surrounded with family and friends, it's hard to really set aside some quality time with the ones you're closest too. Tonight, I'm going to rest (since I'm sure I'll be sore tomorrow) and spend some lazy time with the wifey.

Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and be safe this coming New Year's.
